Innovative Merchants is the Merchant Gateway used by this software.  Besides being the most economical it also is the easiest to configure for user requirements.  You can find out more about them and their requirements by going to their website: http://www.innovativemerchant.com .

The software uses the following information when requesting a Credit Card buy or Refund.  (Unless you have a need for a Void or other action we do not allow those.  If you do let us know and we will add it to the features.)  Once you have set up your account with Innovative Merchants you will receive a user Login ID and a Password.  Do not loose that information.  We do not have access to it and if lost you will have to go to Innovative Merchants to recover it.

 

You will need the following to use this process.

An Internet connection.  (Dial up is find however cable is much faster with less chance of an error.)

A Merchant Account with Innovative Gateway.

 

The following fields are used for credit card transactions (all fields are required and are normally filled out in their respective databases):

 

Credit Card Name - from the Customers Database

Credit Card Number - from the Customers Database

Expiration Date - from the Customers Database

Customers Full Name - from the Customers Database

Billing Address - from the Customers Database

City - from the Customers Database

State - from the Customers Database

Country - from the Customers Database

Postal Code (Zip Code) - from the Customers Database

Email Address - from the Customers Database

 

Type of Transaction (sale or credit) (not accessible by user)

 

Merchant Login User ID - from the Company's Database

Merchant Password - from the Company's Database

 

Amount Paid - from the Invoice Database

Amount Credit - from the Credit Database

Invoice # - from the Invoice Database

Credit #  - from the Credit Database

 

When the transaction is sent (See Customer Finance for sales and Credits for refunds/credits.) the above information is gathered and sent by Internet connection to Innovative Gateway where the transaction is processed.  If the sale is good the gateway returns the following information which is added to the sale and a message will appear notifying you that the transaction was accepted, if an email address was supplied, the customer is notified as well.

 

Authorization Number

Transaction ID (for refunds/credits)

 

If the transaction fails a message appears notifying you of the failure and the reason why along with an error code which you can check with Innovative Merchants to see what action if any you need to take.
